New season for Sonoma State Theater Arts

The Sonoma State Department of Theater Arts and Dance plans to produce another eclectic and exciting season for staff, students and community members alike.

Urgent Fury

Oct. 15-23 in Evert B. Person Theatre

"Urgent Fury," a dark comedy surrounding a Texas naval base, is the work of one of the country's new and noteworthy playwrights Allison Moore. While the wives of two highly ranked army officers try to maintain normalcy as the U.S. invades Grenada, their kids secretly work on their own projects threatening to bring the base to its knees. This contemporary look at family dynamics and covert affairs sets the stage for the struggle to keep one Texas Army base from going up in flames.

Hedda Gabler

"Hedda Gabler" is a classic drama that delves deep  into the woman psyche. Gabbler has trapped herself in a loveless marriage of convenience, while secretly pining for another man. Written by famous playwright Henrik Ibsen, "Hedda Gabler" deals with the conflicts between human potential and social convention.
