In 2007, the first ground-breaking Smartphone was released, taking the world by storm with its sleek look and best of all, the amazing applications. The iPhone soon had every cell phone maker scrambling to invent a phone just like it.
It wasn’t long before other companies began launching touch screen Smart phones, trying to get a piece of the limelight. One company in particular decided to launch their own operating system in the hopes of replacing the iPhone as the must have handheld device.
T-mobile soon launched a new system called Android with Google that appeared on their G1 and mytouch devices. Even though it came close to the iPhone, it couldn’t quite steal the spotlight. But Google was determined to make a device that would be identical and in some ways better than the iPhone and set out to create the new competition, the Nexus One.
So what is it about the Nexus One that has developers calling it the “iPhone killer?”
For many, the camera quality of a phone could be its making or breaking point. In this case it definitely makes the Nexus One. The Nexus One surpasses the iPhone with a five-mega pixel camera with flash and video recording. According to www.mashable.com, the camera application allows the user to choose the flash quality, picture size, color effect and picture quality among other things. The iPhone is a bit more of a standard camera. It has a three-mega pixel camera that allows you to choose the focus, record videos and upload them onto broadcasting sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
