It's the season for more drama, reality and even suspense.
Television networks such as VH1, CW and ABC dish out new television shows for spring but who will gain the number one spot? Although there are many season premiers and season finales there is something new in the works.
VH1 prepares for an exciting spring lineup as they release new shows such as "Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business," "Basketball Wives" produced by Shaquille O'Neal‘s ex-wife, Shaunie O'Neal, "What Chili Wants" and "Tough Love Couples."
Brandy is an R&B vocalist known for her number one hits in the ‘90s and even for her television hit series Moesha. Ray J, brandy's younger brother, is also an R&B vocalist known for his role on Moesha and for his own dating hit series "For the Love of Ray J." "Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business" gives a first hand glimpse into the personal lives of the Norwood family. In this one hour television series, Brandy and Ray J learn the ropes of the family company, but can they avoid letting business get in the way of their personal relationships?
"Basketball Wives" produced by Shaquille O'Neal's ex wife, Shaunie O'Neal, is a reality series set out to give insight into the life of what a basketball wife is really like and how they have dealt with, or continue to deal with, the groupies, fame and lifestyle. Many people that watch this series may be a little disappointed in the group of wives that actually appear on the show. Those looking for Kobe Bryant's wife to appear in the new series, are going to be disappointed. Most of the women on the show are the wives of lesser-known basketball players. Wives Jennifer Williams, Royce Reed, Erikka Moxam, Evelyn Lozada, Suzie Ketchem and Gloria Govan share the lives they lead, opening up about their marriage and even divorce. Everything is on the table in this open book, reality/ drama series.
Many may know her as a band mate of the notorious TLC, an all girl group who took the world by storm by their empowering, real and often reflective lyrics. Despite her fame, some may only know her by her relationship with at one point, long time R&B boyfriend Usher. Nevertheless, Chili, along with dating advice columnist, Tionna Smalls, is on a mission in her new television series "What Chili Wants" and is looking for someone to "put a ring on it." The show is a journey with Chili in her hopes of finding her future husband. But this won't be easy, Chilli holds a checklist of high standards and she's not backing down for anyone. Is the problem the men or is Chili being her own worst enemy?
"Tough Love Couples," is a spin-off of the original "Tough Love" a reality show following a group of romantically challenged women as they learn how to find and keep successful relationships. This time dating and relationship expert, Steve Ward, has a new agenda: couples. Although going on a search for "the one" can be hard, we can all agree that relationships aren't always a walk in the park either. As he tackles the drama and frustration of each couple, he's hoping that he will be able to help the couples fix their relationship and set it on the right path. But not all couples will survive.
VH1 isn't the only television network delivering the new series of premiers. The CW network is also enjoying their new project as well with catfights, flying drinks and yelling. This spring was the beginning to another television reality drama with the CW, "High Society." "High Society" is reminiscent of "The Hills" mixed with the high class lifestyle of "Gossip Girl." This series follows the life of Manhattan's elite, starring socialite Tinsley Mortimer and is all about drama, drama and more drama, enough to make even Blair Waldorf blush.
