Facebook allows people to stay in touch with one another and is frequented by college students. Pictures and videos can be shared, instant messages can be exchanged and events can be created.
But with more and more people outside of college networks joining, the focus from universities has begun to dwindle. Orgsync.com is here to bring that focus back.
According to Orgsync.com its purpose is "to enhance students' out-of-the-classroom experiences by improving campus communication and making it easier to get involved."
This site was founded several years ago by a handful of students and alumni from the University of Texas at Austin.
This small operation has grown into a conglomerate power site with over 120 higher education institutions both in Canada and the United States. Sonoma State University has recently gotten on board.
Typical frustrations of college life, such as frozen overcrowded servers with no one to help or having to make an appointment to talk with a counselor are aided by Orgsync.com.
There is a 24-hour customer service phone line; students can even chat live with a representative at any time.
Services offered through this web site provide more information, a sense of community and more helpful information without having to hire any additional staff.
Orgsync.com offers a variety of departments and programs to fit individual students' needs.
The Student Life section will manage all student information and files online. All student members can be notified of important campus information instantly via email, new posts and even texts.
The Clubs and Organizations section will help individual organizations to market their information to all students and aide in the recruitment process.
Organizations can consistently provide the most up-to-date information to all members and open the doors of communication.
